On Monday 19 November, Year 7 science students investigated how to separate pigments of ink. They used chromatography paper to separate ink spots and compare pigments found in different ink. They practised their diagram drawings and labelling of laboratory equipment, and method design. Students will continue to learn and understand how separating and purifying substances is used outside of the classroom in processing baby food, vacuum cleaners, fractional distillation, forensics, and other industrial applications.
