Teaching Staff CPD Workshops 

CPDL or ‘Continuing Professional Development and Learning’ is an important part of teacher development and here at SISKY we strive to provide our staff with a variety of opportunities to improve their teaching skills. Our staff aim to model the best practice of being lifelong learners and always striving for their best. We also know that research shows us that improving teaching, learning and academic standards has knock-on effects for the entire school community and is not something we do in isolation: collaboration is key!

Last week after the Chinese New Year celebrations, three workshops took place during our regular weekly training slot. Primary and secondary teachers could choose from a ‘buffet’ of one of these diverse yet hugely relevant sessions. Topics ranged from using online tools in Early Years, EAL (English as an additional language) strategies and issues relating to whole school teaching and learning. Sessions were delivered by colleagues for colleagues and demonstrated the importance of openly sharing good ideas and practices across the whole school community.
