Physical, Social and Health Education (PSHE) is a vital part of the students' learning week. Topics covered deal with issues of which young adults need to be aware. This will enable them better to navigate day-to-day life and to negotiate challenges they may face, such as social media use, bullying or stress.
Not only do the students learn about these important issues, they are also given the tools to respond appropriately in their interactions with both the school and the wider community.
Students follow an adapted version of the UK PSHE Curriculum. Lessons are often discussion based and are based around three themes, health and wellbeing, relationships and living in the wider world, which covers economic wellbeing, careers and the world of work.
Included in the PSHE curriculum are house sporting events which aim to emphasise the sense of belonging to teams. These events help to develop teamwork through competitive games, to make bonds with others and to develop leadership skills.
