Dorms Teacher (Khao Yai Campus)

Due to increasing pupil numbers, St. Stephen’s requires a positive and pro-active dorm teacher to join our team. We are seeking a mature individual who has effective interpersonal skills. Experience and understanding of the UK Curriculum is preferable, passion and commitment to the holistic development of children is a must. The ideal candidate would have some knowledge of development and appropriate practices in International School and the ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner. Energy and enthusiasm to work with children is essential.

 

A dorm teacher is a student affairs professional responsible for overseeing students who live in campus housing to ensure that residential communities on each floor of their assigned area are welcoming, orderly and problem-free. Some of their many duties include social and educational programming, crisis intervention, meeting with residents, and managing student behavior.

 

  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with Teaching License

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, energetic and confident

  • Experience with many ages group of children is desirable

  • Warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the school’s programme.

  • Responsibilities :

  • Follow all integrity guidelines and procedures.

  • Maintain a safe and clean dorm environment.

  • Provide quality supervision to students in the dormitory.

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of incident and shift reports.

  • Ensure the physical security of the dorm area and report concerns to Head of Campus.

  • Maintain adequate levels of inventory per established department reorder points and proactively order supplies.

  • Active member on case management and success teams to ensure student success in the program.

  • Ensure student areas are supervised and that staff adhere to rest and meal break requirements.

  • Produce quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.

  • Maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.

  • Plan, prioritize and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.

  • Understand and apply job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.

  • Maintain the skills required to perform job duties.

  • Mentor, monitor and model the success standards.

  • Provide high-quality supervision and management for the student population and positively influences student behavior.

  • Show respect and courtesy to students and hold them accountable for their actions and behavior.

  • Communication: Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.

  • Contribute meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge.
