Year 6 Chasing Shadows!

Year 6 have had another exciting week in practical science investigating why our shadows change and why we have day and night. Having drawn around our partner's shadow every hour from 9.00AM, and recording the measurements, we were amazed at the results. "Huh?" Dylan exclaimed at 1.00 when his shadow was very short. 

The final pictures are a part of a practical demonstration of the Earth rotating around the Sun to help the children understand day and night and clarify the misconception some had that the sun moves across the sky.
