Whilst the last two weeks have been a holiday for most of our students, some in Year 10 to Year 13 have attended an inspirational work experience at TAS Thai. Fourteen students considering a career in engineering spent two days at the company, which has a site on the Thammasat University campus. Students learnt about the company and its engineering operations making roof panels and innovative renewable energy products. They spent time in a fabrication workshop and learnt about a range of engineering techniques from several specialist company engineers. They had opportunities to try out their new found skills in using CADCAM by machining a part that they had designed. The students also found out about the importance of collaboration, teamwork and communication as they worked together, all skills highly prized by the engineering industry. TAS Thai were impressed with all of the students taking part. Congratulations to all of the participating students, especially Sky (Gold), Freshy (Silver) and Save (Bronze) who were given special awards by the Managing Director for the quality of their involvement. Thank you to TAS Thai for giving our students this opportunity.
