Week 3 has been an extremely hands-on one for Year 4, with the pupils getting very sticky in IPC. For the art element, everyone collaborated to make papier-mâché volcanoes, but due to the wet weather outside, it seems to be taking quite a while for them to dry. The pupils are waiting patiently to move onto the painting stages before the eruption excitement next week. Another highlight in IPC was the science experiment using Oreo biscuits to investigate how tectonic plates work and the natural disasters they may wreak on our planet.
As for Maths, 2-D shapes was the focus and everybody enjoyed getting creative using Geo boards and Unifix blocks to explore symmetry and geometry. In English the children knuckled down to plan and write historical fiction, building on their ideas and remembering to use appropriate sentence openers.
