Dec 16 2016
Twas the afternoon before the Christmas break, when all through the school
Not a creature was stirring, not even a ghecko.
The stockings were hung by the classroom door with care,
In hopes that Santa soon would be there.
The children were nestled all excited in their classrooms,
While visions of candies danced in their heads.
And their teacher in green and red.
Was just about to settle for a long winter’s holiday.
When out on the field there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the desk to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
It was Santa!
