The children in Early Years at St.Stephen's in Bangkok and Khao Yai have enjoyed taking part in a cross campus competition. The activities focused on Mindfulness and the children engaged in daily Mindful Moments where they practised yoga poses, positive affirmations, breathing techniques, movement and meditation. Following the daily activities the children were encouraged to make healthy choices for their lunch and 'eat a rainbow'. We then celebrated all of the children's wonderful achievements during assembly with a video of our photographs and certificates for all who participated.
Children of all ages can benefit from mindfulness, the simple practise of bringing a gentle, accepting attitude to the present moment. It can, in turn, benefit parents and caregivers too by promoting happiness and relieving stress.
