Year 10 IGCSE: Qualitative Analysis

Year 10 IGCSE Chemistry students were introduced to Qualitative Analysis for the first time. Not only did they observe and note the results, but also learned how to carry out the practical safely. They then had to put the results together to identify the unknown compound being tested. By carrying out the experiment in the lab, students get a far better idea of the procedure than when using a simulation; it is more real and alive.
