Year 8 trip to Ayutthaya

On Tuesday 13 of June Year 8 students enjoyed a day trip to Ayutthaya where they were able to visit Wat Yai Chai Mongkon to learn about its importance in Thai history. Students then visited the Ayutthaya Historical Park where they worked in small groups to carry out questionnaires with tourists who were visiting the UNESCO site. This gave students the chance to converse in English with people from a variety of countries, and gain an understanding of their impressions of Ayutthaya. The final stop of the trip was the Japanese Village where students learnt about how various foreign communities made their home in the area which helped increase Ayutthaya's importance as a place of trade.
