IPC Unit, Fascinating Forces

As part of our IPC Unit, Fascinating Forces, Year 5 pupils have learnt about water resistance. They designed and built model boats that were required to be water resistant and streamlined. Holding it securely, the pupils were shown how to safely use a battery-powered fan to push the boat across water, timing how long it took to reach the other side. This taught them valuable lessons about the reason why boats are shaped in a particular way to help them travel in a controlled way.
