Year 5 Science

Year 5 pupils have been investigating light refraction in Science, which means the change of direction of a light wave through a medium. They conducted three different experiments during their IPC lesson, to help them understand the topic in a practical sense using pencils, coins and drawings. The children learnt that when light enters a more dense medium - for example, water - the rays slow down. This in turn affects how the images are perceived by the human eye. It is wonderful to see how enthusiastic and inquisitive the children are about Science at St. Stephen's
