On Wednesday, May 18th, as part of the Thai Language and Culture curriculum, the Thai department organised a Thai field trip for Year 4 students to learn about Thai agriculture at the Agricultural Museum in Pathumthani.
The Agricultural Museum tour began with a visit to the open air museum known as the "Sufficiency-Economy Agriculture Museum." Our students learned about 1 Rai of Sustainable Wealth, rice cultivation, and traditional Thai houses in four regions. Then, they had a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in growing vegetables and seed selections, as well as learning how to grow vegetables and trees in the city using urban agriculture methods.
Later, the students visited the indoor museum to watch a 3D animation and a short film about Thai lifestyle in the past. They also enjoyed fun activities such as playing musical instruments to accompany the film's song, ramwong dancing, visiting actual-scale models of temple fair and floating market, and team building based on the concept of "learning is the foundation of life."
