Last weekend, members of our swimming squad attended the Lion Speed Championship at Regents International School. This was a very large competition with 18 squads involved with a very high standard all round.
The 13 swimmers from both Primary and Secondary that attended the event performed extremely well and finished in 9th place out of 18, beating some much larger teams.
Some notable achievements included:
Linin (Year 5) came 8th (out of 33) overall in the age 9 category. She came 1st in her heat and 3rd overall (out of 32) for 50m breaststroke. Linin also won silver and bronze medals in her heats for freestyle and backstroke respectively. She finished 13th overall (out of 32) for freestyle.
U13 Medley Relay team came 4th out of 6 in a very tough group.
Adele (Year 7) came 2nd in her heat and 9th overall (out of 22) for 50m breaststroke.
Art (Year 9) came 2nd in his heat for freestyle with a PB of 34.04.
Waew (Year 10) came 3rd overall in the age 15 category.
A big well done to everyone involved as many were able to improve on their own personal best times which is a huge achievement in itself. We look forward to the next competition and hope everyone enjoyed the day.
