Wednesday was an exciting day for the two Year 6 classes as they stepped into the world of secondary school science. Year 6EW took part in some engaging physics practical work with Mr. Ian. Their task involved investigating how the speed of a small trolley is influenced by changing the height of a ramp. Meanwhile, Year 6JT had the opportunity to dive into chemistry with Mr. Selwyn. They faced the challenge of planning a method to extract pure salt from a mixture of sand and salt. This practical experience not only brought their classroom learning to life but also highlighted the importance of scientific methods in real-world applications. Both classes left the labs feeling inspired and eager to learn more about the fascinating world of science!
Following this, both classes undertook, in turns, drama and art workshops. Many laughs were heard in the drama workshop, with Mr. Joe engaging the students with activities that developed their improvisational and creative skills, their communication skills and their ability to focus on others.
In the art workshops they experimented with different ways to draw, all designed to be a fun way to develop their confidence in drawing. They also undertook a collaborative drawing exercise that led to plenty of laughter!
