Year 11 students made their annual visit to The Aids Hospice or Wat Phrabath Namphu in Lopburi Province, as part of the Thai curriculum and St.Stephen’s Community Service programme.
The HIV Hospice has been supported as a charity of St. Stephen’s for over 10 years, and relies on donations from the public. During our visit, we made a donation of everyday items, clothes and medicines to help support the hospice in its work. The trip is also an important way to raise awareness of HIV for the students, as it is often a very misunderstood disease.
This was an important and rewarding trip. Students learnt a lot about the health threat HIV and AIDS poses to our planet, in addition to the support we provide being a valuable service to the Thailand community.
