Secondary students at St. Stephen's have impressed audiences from all over Bangkok with their colourful rendition of the 1988 musical 'Hairspray'. By exploring and highlighting issues of racism and prejudice, they successfully collaborated with each other - in all areas of theatre production - which resulted in two outstanding performances. Over 70 students developed their skills in acting, choreography, set / costume design, music, stage management and back stage technical support. The director, Ms Kellie, who is Head of Drama at SIS, said the following,''I am extremely proud of our students; they have displayed a positive energy and shown resilience throughout this whole process. Not only have they risen to the challenge of performing a complex musical but they have done this with maturity. I feel truly blessed to collaborate with such conscientious individuals.'
