On Tuesday 31st  October, we will be holding various exciting events to celebrate reading. Based on the theme of Halloween, ‘The Magic of Books’ allows a variety of opportunities for students to develop their love for literature.   To start our preparations, students are being encouraged to plan a costume that they can wear to school that day;  we would like students to base their ideas on their favourite Halloween character.   Parades and short story competitions will also be on offer with a number of reading related prizes to those with the most creative ideas!

In further preparation, students and staff are submitting pictures for our ‘extreme read’ challenge where they are photographed reading in an imaginative setting or in a creative pose.

St Stephen's is also proud to announce that we will have our first ever 'book swap' running in the canteen. Students, parents and staff are being asked to donate any unwanted books from home (either Thai or English), and in return, donors will receive a token which can be swapped for a different book on the day. The book swap will be open from 8.00 a.m. and we hope that parents will visit at any time. The event will close at 4.30 p.m.

We recognise that enrichment opportunities such as these will continue to inspire and foster a love for reading in all of our learners and we would like to thank you for your continued support.
